As the country readies itself to receive the first consignment of the Covid-19 vaccine from India this week, questions still abound on whether South Africa has drawn the shortest straw in a “suppliers’ game” that’s seen the country pay almost double what European countries are paying for the doses.
A batch of 1 million doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine is being shipped in from the Serum Institute of India this week. Another 500 000 doses will be delivered next month.
